Munnabhai had 4 crates, with 24 eggs in each crate
costing 4.50 per egg, on his bicycle. While cycling
to his shop with three crates he went over a big
pothole. On reaching his shop he found that 33 eggs
were broken. If he sold the remaining eggs at 6.00
each, what loss per cent did he suffer?

Answer:

Total eggs = 4 × 24 = 96

Total cost = 4.50 × 96 = 432

33 eggs damaged so remaining = 96 - 33 = 63.

Total sold amount = 63 × 6 = 378

so loss = 432 - 378 = 54

54 loss for 432

Loss percentage = 54/432 × 100 = 12.5%
