Let total value of property be Rs x.

According to statement,

$\rm :\longmapsto\:Son \: share = \dfrac{x}{3}$

$\rm :\longmapsto\:Daughter \: share = \dfrac{x}{4}$

Hence,

$\rm :\longmapsto\:Wife \: share = x - \dfrac{x}{3} - \dfrac{x}{4} = \dfrac{12x - 4x - 3x}{12}$

$\bf\implies \:Wife \: share = \dfrac{5x}{12}$

According to statement,

• Wife share = Rs 40000

$\bf\implies \:Wife \: share = \dfrac{5x}{12} = 40000$
