Mushrooms contain no chlorophyll so they are heterotroph and most are considered saprophytes. as they obtain their nutrition from metabolizing non living organic matter.

Mushroom is a Saprotroph:

Mushrooms belong to the kingdom fungi, which are organisms that grow on dead and decaying matter. Most members of the kingdom fungi are organisms which are saprotrophic; i.e., organisms which rely on dead and decaying matter. They are able to break down the matter further by secreting a wide variety of enzymes from their mycelium.

Fungi prefer damp, mist, and shady places; over rotting and decaying wood of trees and animal carcasses. Only a few species of mushrooms are parasitic.
