Given - Selling price

Find - Cost of one book

Solution - Selling price of 15 books = 4500

Selling price of 1 book = 4500/15

Selling price of 1 book = Rs. 300

Let CP of 1 book be x.

Profit = CP of 5 book

Profit = 5x

Profit = Selling price - cost price

5x = 300 - x

5x + x = 300

Performing addition

6x = 300

Shifting 6 and performing division

x = 300/6

x = 50

Hence, cost of 1 book is Rs. 50.
