My car have a 7.2 v battery . Can I use a higher volt for better speed. Will it cause any harm to car?

According to electricity,
V(volt)=I(electric current)×R(resistance)
V is directly propositional to R
so when u increase the voltage the electric current will be more and motor runs very fast,,, but,, as resistance increases, ur car will heated up soon and fails to work,... so use the prescribed voltage.
