Step-by-step explanation:

The difference between "in four years" and "three years ago" is 7 years. If that difference is 7 years, and the age of the car in 4 years is 2 times its age 3 years ago, then the car's ages 4 years from now and 3 years ago have to be 14 and 7. So the current age of the car is 14-4=10 years (or 7+3=10 years)

Let current age of car be x years

age after 4 years = x+4 years

age 3 years ago = x-3 years

x+4 = 2(x-3)

x+4 = 2x-6

x = 10 years
