My father bought some samosas today.
(i) a for of us ate an equal number of samosas, 8 samosas are left. Express the number of samosas my father bought as an algebraic expression in this case.
(ii) before we started eating, 3 more relative joined us. So, we shared al the samosas my father bought equally. Still, 2 samosas were left. Express the number of samosa as my father got as an algebraic expression in this case.
(iii) if the number of samosa eaten per head in both cases is the same how many samosa did i eat?

Answer:

(i) x-y = 8

(ii) x-(y+3) = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no of samosas bought be x

let the no of samosas totally eaten be y

so in (i) case the expression is x-y = 8

so in case (ii) the expression is x- (y+3) = 2 and simplifed to x-y =5
