My father has bought 1kg Apple and 1kg sugar from market and kept on two separate plates and I was surprised to see that sugar is occupying more space than Apple . Please help me to find this answer with reason.​

In an apple the molecules are closely packed that's why they occupy lesser volume as compared to that of sugar crystals which tend to occupy more area
