my father is 30 years older than me.in 12 years time,my father will be three timesvas old as me. find my present age

At present ,

My age = x years

Father age = ( x + 30 ) years

After 12 years
___________

My age should be = ( x + 12 ) years

Father age = ( x + 30 + 12 )

= ( x + 42 ) years

According to the problem given ,

Father age = 3 times of my age

( x + 42 ) = 3 ( x + 12 )

x + 42 = 3x + 36

42 - 36 = 3x - x

6 = 2x

6/2 = x

x = 3

Therefore ,

At present ,

My age = 3 years

Father age = x + 30

= 3 + 30

= 33 years
