My father has been reading the newspaper for one hour.

Some rules for present perfect continuous:

  • To represent the progress of an work or action which started in the past and it continues till now, we use present perfect continuous.
  • To show a finished work that started which in the past and stopped recently ,we present perfect continuous.
  • To denote a temporary action which started in the past but continues till present, present perfect continuous.
