My father’s height is 15 cm more than my height. Sum of the two heights is 290 cm.

Write an equation for the above situation.​

Let jeevan's height be x

father's height = x + 10

so now

\begin{gathered}x + x + 10 = 330 \\ 2x + 10 = 330 \\ 2x = 330 - 10 = 320 \\ x = 320 \div 2 \\ x = 160\end{gathered}

x+x+10=330

2x+10=330

2x=330−10=320

x=320÷2

x=160

Jeevan is 160 cm

His father =

x + 10 = 160 + 10 = 170x+10=160+10=170

His father is 170cm
