Answer:

I never lived a luxurious life, I work as a fisherman who lives on a beach in a shack. I fish in a small wooden boat, nothing special. It's hard working as a fisherman but to me, listening to the sounds of waves crashing against each other while looking at the beautiful view is worth it. Although it does get very lonely. That was until I met a friend. It was a seagull.

Everyday when I go out to sea in my boat, it comes and travels along with me. It was nice coming in contact with another living thing apart from fish. It was different from most seagulls. It didn't make any noise, but I quite like having a silent partner.

Fishing didn't make a lot of money but at least it was something that I enjoyed doing. Ever since I met this seagull I've felt a lot happier and joyous. I often give it small fish and it grabs it in its mouth and flies away. I often wondered where it took the fish when I waited for its return to the boat.

It was stormy one day so I couldn't go fishing. I was going to go out and at least bring the seagull in the house but a gust of wind along with pelting raindrops greeted me as I opened the door. It wasn't a good idea to go outside. Thunder roared loudly and bright flashing lightening was seen in the dark sky. I was worried for the poor guy.

The next day, things were looking better. I decided to go outside and check the damage before anything other weather decides to attack me. I was hoping that my feathered companion would be at the dock, ready for another day of fishing. But all I saw was bits of floating wood, which was what had remained of my boat, and feathers in the still sea. I was shocked, I've never experienced this before, I've never experienced the loss for someone you've cared for. I didn't know what to feel, I lived alone all my life. I felt an emptiness inside me. I was just standing at the dock, watching the sun rise in silence as my head bowed down low.
