my following questions are related with practical of equivalent weight of metal.(1).explain the purpose of cleaning copper and zinc cathodes. (2).the weight of copper anode and zinc anode decreses.explain(3).describes the effect of time on the amount of substance diposited for which current is passee.(4)desribe the importance of increase in the weight of cathode. please give answer tomarrow is my practical

1) to make sure no impurities obstruct the coating of the cathode with the metal i.e to obtain only pure metal at the cathode
2) the zinc /copper connected at the anode lose electrons, turning into ions and move into the solution
3) that's a bit unclear..but I'm guessing you mean deposit at the cathode. So with increase in time, the deposit at the cathode increases as well
4) importance? I guess - if the weight doesn't increase that means the substance at the anode either has no copper/metal to ionise or somethings wrong so that the ions are not discharged at the cathode.
