What is direct and indirect narration?

• In English grammar, there are two type of speech: direct and indirect.
• In direct speech, we simply describe, repeat or quote the exact words of the speaker without any chnages.
• It is written in inverted commas.
• Wheras in indirect speech, the content or narration is reported as said by a third person.
• In this form, the inverted commas are omitted and the conjunction 'that' is used.
• For example, Joe said that he would be coming tomorrow is an indirect speech.
