Both the devices are transformers.
A) step up transformer( increases voltage)
B) step down transformer( decreases voltage)
A) step up transformer( increases voltage)
B) step down transformer( decreases voltage)

but they have changed the unit at B..so both r step up transformer right?
no but the unit before b is KV ( kilo volt) = 1000Volts
B is step down transformer
