My grandmother, like everybody's grandmother, was an old woman. She has been old and wrinkled for the twenty years that I had known her. People said that she had once been young and pretty and had even had a husband, but that was hard to believe.

1. Why does author say that her grandmother had always been "old and wrinkled"? 2. Do you think his grandmother hasn't aged in the last twenty years? 3. Why does he find the fact that she was once "young and pretty" hard to believe?​
