Sylhet, Bangladesh's tea granary, boasts not only over 150 tea gardens, but also the world's largest tea gardens in terms of both area and productivity. Sylhet is also recognised as the home of Hazrat Shah Halal, a notable Muslim saint and the region's great torchbearer of Islam. Sylhet town has the shrine of this renowned saint. Sylhet is home to the colourful Monipuri, Khasia, and Garo tribes. The dance of the Monipuri indigenous maidens is well-known. Sylhet is another well-known city.
