my lost dollar. what lesson dors the author wish to lern from the story. what do you think is the actual purpose of "back to honesty movement"in the story.

Back to honesty" is meant by the poet the system of money lending, and recieving money as lend etc. We know that it is a system that still resumes. The author as a character tell that he should start a back to honesty movement.....every borrower will not forget to ...." The poet refers this conversation to Major Todd.

The story gives us the message borrowers should not forget to return back the money they have borrowed.

"Back to honesty movement" refers to changing the dishonest means which have been prevailing since ages which should be changed to honest means.
