Answer:

The theme of the poem is 'ageing' which is the law of nature. It also depicts the helplessness and aspirations of the young generation. It portrays the different stages of life and how everybody grows old and faces various situations that life throws at them. The main idea expressed in this poem is that everything that has blossomed will wither one day. ... The images of the real world like that of the 'children spilling out of their homes' and the 'sprinting trees' contrasts life with death.
