'My Mother' is a well-known poem written by the one and only Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Kalam was a renowned aerospace scientist who also served his country by being its 11th President. He passed on 27th July 2015.

The poet had to go through a lot of struggles as a child. However, two difficulties that bothered Kalam are-

• The World War II which occurred around 1939 affected the lives of people not Internationally. Though the war did not involve India, its effects were felt.
• Kalam had to walk many miles before the sun rose. He also had to work very hard. This bothered him and made his life more difficult.
