let the son's age be x
then,mothers age will become 2x+12
after 8years,
son's age=x+8
mother's=2x+12+8
a/q
3(x+8)-20=2x+12+8
3x+24-20=2x+20
3x+4=2x+20
3x-2x=20-4
x=16

hence son's age=16years
nd mothers age=44years

Answer:

My present age is 16 years and my mother's present age is 44 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let my present age be x

Now we are given that My mother is 12 year more than twice my age.

So, Mother's present age = 2x+12

After 8 years

Mother's age =  2x+12+8=2x+20

My Age will be x+8

Now we are given that my mother's age will be 20 years less than three times of my age.

2x+20 =3(x+8)-20

2x+40 =3x+24

16=x

My age = 4 years

Mother's Age =  2x+12 = 2(16)+12=44

Hence My present age is 16 years and my mother's present age is 44 years
