let my age be x.
therefore, my mother's age=12+2x.
AFTER 8 YEARS:
mother's age=3×(x+8)-20
12+2x+8=3x+24-20
20+2x=3x+4
therefore,x=16.☺☺
My present age=16,and
my mother's age=12+2x
