my mother is four times as old as me, After 5 years my mother will be three times as old as i will be then. find my mothers age

let your mother's age be x then your be y

so ATQ

x = 4y

and, x+5 = 3 (y+5)

lets solve both equations,

putting x = 4y in 2nd equation,

4y +5 = 3y + 15
y = 20

so your mother's age = 4y
= 80 years
