My mother says in her childhood petrol price was 1 rupee paper litre . It is 65rupees per litre today . By what % has the prices of petrol gone up.

Answer:

To find the % increase = (Difference of the prices/Original price) x 100

Before = Rs.1

Now = Rs. 65

Difference: 65-1

                 = Rs. 64

% increase = \frac{64}{1} x100

                  = 64x100

                  = 6400% increase
