Last Sunday, we shifted into a new government colony. This colony is inhabited by employees of the government. They belong to various departments and ministries. My next door neighbours are very nice. One of them is a police inspector. He has a small family. His son is a college student. He is a very intelligent boy. He often tells me very interesting stories. The police inspector is also very gentle. His habits and temperament are very fine. He considers himself to be the custodian of law and order. He never misuses his powers but always helps others. His wife has a religious bent of mind. She also extends great co-operation and help to all.The house in front of ours belongs to the principal of a school. He is an old man, in his late 50’s and a thorough gentleman. Extremely well behaved, he is highly respected by the inhabitants of the locality. He helps the deserving students by admitting them in his school. He gives fee concessions to the needy and poor students. He has a medium-sized family of two sons and a daughter. They are of a very helping nature. His daughter is my classmate. We go to school together. The principal loves me very much. Sometimes, he gives us very interesting lectures. I am proud to be in the company of such a well-educated family.

Good neighbours are a blessing. They help us whenever we are in need and support us in our trouble I feel lucky to have Mr Dutta as my neighbour. He is a gem of a person. He is very friendly and helpful to everyone. He is kind hearted and sympathetic and like a family member to me. We usually have lunch together on Sundays.

once while travelling in a bus at night, my wallet got stolen and I lost all my money and cards. I realised this when I reached back home. I had no money and so I had to ask mr Dutta for money. He took no time to lend me some money and made me feel better he was very sympathetic and proved to be a great friend.

Another day it so happened that all of a sudden at midnight I became seriously ill. I had high fever and I was too weak to get up from the bed. With just a phone call, he came running and offered me help. He called the doctor and arranged all the medicines. He sat beside me the whole night. He visited me regularly for five days till I was completely well. I can never forget his sympathy, kindness and service. How lucky I am to have Mr Dutta as my neighbour.
