• Increased emission of green house gases has increased the temperature of earth . This phenomenon is called global warming.
• global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other gases like methane, nitrous oxide etc. collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced up the earth's surface leading to an increase in the temperature of earth.

2. deforestation
3. agricultural activities
4. combustion of fossil fuels
5. oil drilling etc.

effect of global warming :

1. rise in overall global temperature
2. threat to aquatic life
3. flooding
4. desertification due to scanty rainfall
5. and loss of habitation
