Find:

We are required to find single digit numbers which are perfect squares also

Solution:

Considering all the single digit numbers

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

squares of the singles digit numbers are,

0,1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64,72

Of the above only 0,1,4,9 are single digit numbers

Thus, if whole numbers are being considered,

0,1,4,9 are the single digit numbers which are also perfect squares

If natural numbers are being considered,

1,4,9 are the single digit numbers which are also perfect squares.
