This semester in WISE English has been very interesting. There were some things that I did like and there were some things that I did not like. I can admit though that this semester has brought me some growth in my writing. For that I believe all that hard work and complaining about the assignments that I hated to do worth it all. The major writings that I have written in Professor Peterson’s WISE English class have overall been some of my best writings and I am really happy about the grades that I have received on most of them.
My least favorite thing was the group narrative project. It was very hard to meet with my group and I felt like some people did not pull their weight. I did, however, find my narrative very interesting yet hard to write about when it came to the individual assignment. In the group presentation it was very last minute due to our meeting complications and partly because some people waited until the last minute to do their part. Overall this was just an experience that I really did not like and may have a large part in why I do not like group projects.
The actual individual narrative assignment was also an assignment that I did not quite like. I found it hard to choose a subject that had a lot of information, so I chose how literacy affected negroes. I actually did find lot of information on this subject as it related to my narrative. However, when I started writing the paper I ran out of things to say. I eventually realized that it was hard to relate some of the information to the narrative. Part of my problem was that I felt rushed. Maybe if I had a little more time, I could have written a better paper.
