a) 1 rupee = 100 paise

Rs. 35 × 100 = 3500p

so 3500p : 50p

= 3500/50

= 70/1 or 70:1

b) 1 m = 100 cm

9 m × 100 = 900 cm

so 900 cm : 27 cm

= 900/27

= 300/9 = 100/3 or 100:3
