Given :

n(A) = 7

n(B) = 13

n(A n B) = 4

To find :

n (AUB)

Explanation :

we know ,

theorem : if A and B are two finite sets, then the relation is

n(AUB) =n(A) + n (B) - n ( A n B)

we have already given,

n(A) = 7,n(B) = 13,n(A n B) = 4

→ n (AUB) = n(A) + n (B) - n ( A n B)

→ n (A U B) = 7 + 13 - 4

→ n (A U B) = 20 - 4

→ n (A U B) = 16

therefor , n (A U B) = 16
