There are total 22 left boys in the row.

Given,

X is 6th from right in the row.

S is 8th from left in the row.

After exchanging X and S, X is 15th from left in the row

S is 17th from right in the row.

Total number of boys in line are 5 + 1(X) + 16 = 5+1+16 = 22

If we take S in view 7 + 1(S) + 14 = 22

Therefore, total number of boys left in the row are 22.
