Double sampling plan
Explanation:
Double sampling plan was invented to give another round of check to a questionable, like double confirming the defect.
For instance, if the first sampling results in one or more defects, but the defects were not conclusive with regard to accepting or rejecting the product, then double sampling comes into play. A second sample is taken to ascertain the defects found in the first sample. This can also be done multiple times and it is called Multiple sampling in that case.
Application of double sampling needs that a first sample of size n1 is taken at random from the lot. The number of defectives is then counted and compared with first sample acceptance number c1 and rejection number c2.
