The probability that a customer likes either mango or vanilla flavor is 12 / 25.

• Given,

Number of per day customers in the cafe = 200

Percentage of customers that likes vanilla = 60 %

Percentage of customers that likes mango = 80 %

• Number of customers having vanilla in a day = 60 % of 200

= ( 60 / 100 ) × 200

= 120 customers

• Number of customers having mango in a day = 80 % of 200

= ( 80 / 100 ) × 200

= 160 customers

• Probability of a customer asking for vanilla flavor (P1) = Total number of customers having vanilla flavor in a day / Total number of customers visiting the cafe in a day

=> P1 = 120 / 200

Or, P1 = 3 / 5

• Probability of a customer asking for mango flavor (P2) = Total number of customers having mango flavor in a day / Total number of customers visiting the cafe in a day

=> P2 = 160 / 200

Or, P1 = 4 / 5

• Therefore, probability of customers asking for either vanilla or mango flavor in a day = (3 / 5) × (4 / 5) = 12 / 25
