Most adjectives add -ly to form adverbs. For example,
loud-loudly, quick-quickly.
• When an adjective ends in -y preceded by a consonant, the -y is changed to -

When the adjective ends in -e, the -e is dropped and -ly is added.
For example, true truly, double-doubly.
