A chemical reaction can be defined as the conversion of some molecules to new molecules by making and breaking of chemical bonds.

The substances which involve in the chemical reaction are called as reactants whereas the substances which are newly formed are called as products. Here \bold{\mathrm{N}_{2}} and \bold{\mathrm{H}_{2}} combine to form one product that is ammonia. Hence it is a type of combination reaction.

The reaction in that two or more reactant molecules combine to form one product is called as "combination reaction".
