Out of all these metals , Sodium will displace hydrogen gas very vigorously from water because out of all these metals Sodium is the most reactive metal .

Na + H2O ------- Na2O + h2

Answer: Out of all the given options, only Sodium( Na) and Calcium(Ca) can displace hydrogen from water vigorously.

However, magnesium(Mg) can displace hydrogen only from steam, whereas iron(Fe) do not displace hydrogen from water.

It all depends on the chemical reactivity series of metals and their position with respect to hydrogen.

Only the metals placed above hydrogen in the electrochemical series displace it from acid or water.

The difference in reactivity of metals can be attributed to the electronic configuration of the atoms.
