Na+ is possible but Cl+ is not possible. What is the reason?

Na + means an ion which has a proton more than an electron. Na loses one electron to attain stable electronic configuration.So it is possible.

CL gains one electron to attain stable electronic configuration. the gain of one electron increases the number of electrons than the proton. So CL become a negative ion.
therefore CL+ is not possible
