1. there was no hustle and bustle of the regular days in tha school that day .everything was calm and settled. it was to be the last lesson of french as german was going to be imposed upon them from the next day .hence everbody including the students and rhe village elders gathered there shocked and stunned.
2.M.hamel was a french teacher in a lacal school in Alsace.a strict.disiplinarian .jamel was a stereon type teacher who did not spare his iron ruler .he was a hard task master .homever this stern hearted teacher transformed into a mellow human being after the orders of imposing german was received from beflin .he did not scold franz for coming late to the class. nor did he use the iron ruler on him patriotic feeling are se within him. he loved french language intensely and considered it as the most beautiful language in the world.
