It is due to non stoichiometric effect of sodium. That is called as metal excess defect of sodium.

Nacl turns yellow when heated in presence of Na . It is due to non stoichiometric effect of sodium. That is called as metal excess defect of sodium. ... So it will turns the nacl crystal into yellow colour.
