Nagana, a form of the diseasetrypanosomiasis (q.v.), occurring chiefly in cattle and horses and causedby several species of the protozoan Trypanosoma. The disease, which occurs in southern and central Africa, is carried from animal to animal chiefly by tsetse flies.
