the three types of blood vessels are Artery, Vein and Capillary.
Artery - carries blood from heart to different parts of the body. mainly contains oxygenated blood except pulmonary artery.
Vein - Carries blood from different parts of body to the heart. mainly contains deoxygenated blood except pulmonary veins.
Capillary - Thin walled, fine narrow vessels enters into tissues of different organs and helps in diffusion of gases, nutrients, hormones and other substances from tissue to blood and vice versa.

a. Veins: They carry deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. Exception: Pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood.
b. Capillaries: They connect the arteries and veins.
c. Arteries: They carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.
