- Legislation power - The president dissolve the Lok Sabha at the recommendation of prime minister he nominates 12 members of Rajya Sabha and may nominate two members of Anglo- Indian community in Lok Sabha.
- Emergency Power Article 352 - (National emergency) On the grounds of war external aggression or armed rebellion, the president can proclaim emergency after receiving the written recommendation of the cabinet. He also recommends the final emergency if he thinks that the final stability of the country is threatened.

Qualifications:
To become a president of India, the following things are necessary:
• The person should be a citizen of India.
• The person have completed 35 years of age.
• He/she should be the member of Rajyasabha.
• He/she should not hold any office of profit in union, state and local governments.
Election:
The President of India is elected by "Electoral College".
The Electoral College consists of Elected members of :
a) both houses of parliament,
b) members of state legislative assemblies,
c) the elected members of Legislative Assemblies of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry.
