Hi Mate

The sepals are leafy structures generally green in colour, which are the outermost floral organ. The sepals are the lower, or outermost, part of the flower. They fold over the tender, closed bud and protect it from cold and other injuries while it is developing. Usually sepals are green. In many flowers, however, they are as colorful as the petals and increase the flower's attractiveness to insects. It may be caducous (which fall off after pollination), deciduous(which fall off after fertilization), and persistent (which remain intact even after the formation of fruit).

The examples of persistent sepals are tomato, brinjal, raspberry .etc
