Sandy soil contains more than 60% sand and clay. It contains very little clay and silt, so it is porous. ... Hence, there is a lot of air present in this type of soil. Suitable Crops: Sandy soil is not good for plants.

They hold more water than sandy soils and are often high in nutrients plants need. But clay soils can become so waterlogged that they deprive plant roots of oxygen, or so dry that they become too hard to dig in.

For growing crops such as wheat, gram and pati, the soil that is good at retaining water and rich in organic matter in suitable therefore comically soils having these characteristics are useful for such kind of crops .
