Defect which limits the magnifying power of lenses are:

All the common optical defects are responsible for limiting the magnifying power of lenses, there are generally three common optical defects which are:

1. MYOPIA : also called as short-sightedness , where when the light comes in it does not directly focuses on retina but in front of it, which causes the vision of the observer to be out of focus.

2. HYPERMETROPIA : also called as long-sightedness , where when light comes in it focuses behind the retina , which makes the vision of the observer to be not clear.

3. PRESBIOPIA : it is the defect which occurs with the passage of time, due to natural ageing .
