For a particular substance, density doesn't depend on :
- mass only
- volume only
Instead, density is dependent on the ratio of mass and volume.
Now, let's consider an example:
- We have taken 10 grams of water in one glass.
- We have taken 100 grams of water in another glass.
- But , density of water in both the glasses are same and equal to 1 g/cc. This is because density will be dependent on both mass and volume of water. When the mass is increased the volume proportionately increases keeping the density constant.
