Name a geothermal energy plant located in India.what is the future of this form of energy in our country?

India has reasonably good potential for geothermal; the potential geothermal provinces can produce 10,600 MW of power (but experts are confident only to the extent of 100 MW).
The future of this form of energy in our country are:-

1. Extensive global distribution; it is accessible to both developed and developing countries.

2. Environmentally friendly nature; it has low emission of sulphur, CO2 and other greenhouse gases.

3. Indigenous nature; it is independent of external supply and demand effects and fluctuations in exchange rates.

4. Independence of weather and season.

5. Contribution to the development of diversified power sources.

There's no geothermal plant of india till now. But many projects are going on to establish in some regions of India.
The most promising project of these is in Puga valley of Ladakh.
