Thank you for using LearnNext Q&A forum. Please post one question at a time for clear and prompt answers. 1) Extracellular digestion: Organisms like mushroom and bread mould secrete enzymes and digest the food outside. The digested food is absorbed into the body during growth. This process is known as extracellular digestion. It is performed by saprophytes. 2) Transpiration pull: Plants absorb water from the soil aided by transpiration pull. Transpiration pull is explained by Dixon and Joly theory. Dixon- Joly theory is also known as Cohesion-Tension theory. This theory is based on the upward movement of water from the root to aerial parts of the plant body which is called as ascent of sap or often called translocation of water.Water molecules stick to one another through cohesion forming a column in the xylem. The negative pressure created by transpiration pull exerts a force on these water particles causing their upward movement in xylem. 3) Renin is the milk curdling enzyme present in only human infants as they rely on milk for nutrition. It is also abundantly present in calf gastric juice. It is absent in adults.
