Hirudinaria granulosa is a sanquivorous annelid. It is also known as cattle leech. 


It can be a free living creature in ponds, streams and rivers or it can exist as a parasite on cattle. It moves with the help of muscles. It has an anticoagulant known as hirudin. It feeds on blood. It attacks the domestic animals. It is a hermaphrodite. Its body is flat and is divided into 33 segments.
