To start with, Germany passed a Weimar constitutional amendment in 1933. It was called the ‘ Enabling Act ‘ which allowed Hitler to pass laws w/o going through the Reichstag. In 1934, Hindenburg died which additionally gave him a free hand in destroying democracy.
